We cannot overemphasize the importance of furnishing an appropriate, customer-approved proof which will help us to meet customer expectations.
TEXT AND ELEMENT PROOF:
Minimally, we require a customer-furnished text and element proof to assist us in preflighting our customer's digital ad. This proof can be a laser proof or an accompanying PDF file with embedded fonts. Whenever possible proofs should be printed at 100% size. In the event that no proof is submitted with application files, Penton Media will produce and furnish to our customers a low-resolution PDF file for approval.
CONTRACT PROOF:
For color match we require a digital halftone proof (i.e. Kodak Approval Digital Color Proof, Dupont Digital Water Proof, Fuji FinalProof, Imation Matchprint Digital Halftone Proof, Polaroid PolaProof Digital Halftone Proof, etc.) or other inkjet or laser proofs derived from a SWOP-certified proofing system (www.swop.org). Penton Media does not offer high-end digital color-match proofs. There is no longer a website that lists providers who can make SWOP proofs for you but we suggest going to (www.idealliance.org/swop/proofs/providers.asp) for more information.
We cannot guarantee accurate reproduction of advertisements without an accompanying proof.
